Noon, Great local barbecue
Contrary to its proximity to Dallas, the name of Big D Barbecue instead refers to the owner’s grandfather (“Big Daddy”). The owner here is also an owner/investor of Fort Worth’s Cowtown Brewing brewpub.
2pm, Two downtown breweries
The older (Summer 2018) of Mansfield’s two breweries, Dirty Job Brewing, is located in the middle of Main Street (also Hwy 157, or business US 287) as part of a new “destination” historic downtown.
Just across the street and another block south is the newer brewery, By The Horns Brewing, which opened only months ago. This brewery is part of what is called “The Backyard,” a multi-functional restaurant and entertainment alley likely installed with some city support. C48
